In order to answer that question, I would have to know what kind of business you want to establish ultimately. I started my own consulting firm 5 years ago. Prior to that, I worked as a consultant for another firm (as an employee) and learned the ropes (and saved up money to start the business). I think there’s much to be said for potential entrepreneurs like you want to save up their own money and start their own businesses with their own money. I see a lot of potential entrepreneurs who have a “great idea” and then go out and find investors to give them money. If it works for them, that’s great. But investors could be a blessing or a curse. A blessing if they know what they’re doing and can offer guidance to young business people. A curse if they’re only interested in a “fast buck” rather than a healthy enterprise.
Find a job that will teach you the skills that you’ll need when you start your own business. When I started my business, I felt like nothing had changed as far as the work that I did. The only things that changed were that I made a lot more money than before and experienced a lot more freedom (and self-determination) that I had before.
Good luck!
I agree with the comments here, you want to really assess your business needs to see what you require in the way of financial start up. I have people who have been given a loan by a family member, saving high interest payments. Alternatively if you do require some sort of finacial assistance a short term cash advance might be a better solution.
Start off with a well written business plan and go from there.
